Simple clicker game with anime waifus

Cookie Waifu: Dessert Darling is a free simulation game from Wee Bo Inc. The premise is simple: you click on your cookie to earn points. Once you’ve earned enough, you can sell cookies for more in-game currencies. The only catch is that in this clicker game, cookies are waifus, or anime-style female characters. The money you earn goes to purchasing new skins, which are other character designs.

Its anime art style and very straightforward premise make Cookie Waifu: Dessert Darling a good way to pass the time, despite it lacking a formal storyline. It’s similar to Food Evolution - Clicker Game.

Click and unlock cookies and pastries

As mentioned, Cookie Waifu: Dessert Darling has a very straightforward gameplay. You just have to click on the female cookie character available to generate cookies. Then, you can sell those cookies for gold coins. With enough coins, you can unlock other pastries and with them, other waifu designs. The great part about this is that it automatically continues to generate cookies and gold even when you’re not playing.

In terms of graphics, there’s not much to expect. There is a good range of female characters to unlock, but they are not of the same quality as those from visual novels. The game also features relaxing elevator music that gets repetitive after some time. Gameplay-wise, the game at least saves your progress, although there’s only one save slot available.

To throw a bit of a challenge to the game, it comes with the risk of accidentally losing your cookies. This is mostly random and takes a significant amount of your cookies. As an idle clicker, however, the clicking becomes less and less relevant the more you play. You can just open it every once in a while for upgrades and leave it.

A standard fare clicking game

Overall, there’s not much to do with Cookie Waifu: Dessert Darling. As an idle clicker, the clicking part of the game becomes counterintuitive soon enough, making it the type of app you open every now and then for upgrades. The titular characters give the player something to look forward to, although the character designs themselves could use a bit more work.

PROS

  • Has a selection of characters to unlock
  • Continues to produce even when not playing

CONS

  • Substandard character designs
  • Clicking becomes less relevant as you progress
